Ballymena BID Lights Up Town Centre with Winter Lights Investment

Ballymena BID has recently invested substantial monies in the town centre including new winter lighting, with some 75 poles decorated with wrap round lights that will be in place until at least February 2018.

THE darker days and nights are now firmly upon us but Ballymena Business Improvement District (BID) is helping to dispel the winter blues, with the installation of an additional 51 new wraparound Winter Lights on poles throughout the town centre.

The glittering lighting display, wholly funded by the BID, is lighting up many of the town’s streets to the delight of local retailers and visitors. The decision to install the additional lights follows on from the positive feedback received when the lighting was initially installed in November 2017. There are now over 125 winter lights covering every street in the BID area.

BID Manager, Alison Moore, hopes the installation of the Winter Lights will help encourage people to visit the town centre more regularly and brighten people’s visits in the run up to Christmas. Alison said, “The Winter Lights in Ballymena are a welcome addition to the town centre, brightening up our now darker evenings. We’re very pleased to install the additional lighting and hope our visitors and retailers enjoy the beautiful displays. The BID has worked extremely hard to promote the town and has invested substantial monies to do so. We’re hopeful this investment will pay off.”

The Winter Lights are likely to remain on in Ballymena Town Centre until the clocks go forward in March 2019.
