Campaign Bus Prepares to Visit Town Centre
BALLYMENA BID and the Ballymena Borough Chamber of Commerce and Industry are gearing up for Small Business Saturday and are encouraging local shoppers to visit the Small Business Saturday Big Bus which is visiting Ballymena on Friday 28th October 2016 from 10am to 1pm.
The campaign bus will be visiting Ballymena’s town centre to highlight the goods and services that are available to local consumers on their doorsteps by their local retailers and businesses. Visitors to the bus will receive a free ‘Ballymena Means Shopping’ shopping bag from the Ballymena BID.
Ballymena BID manager, Alison Moore said; “We are delighted to host the Small Business Saturday Big Bus on its tour of Northern Ireland. Small businesses contribute greatly to the local economy of Ballymena and we would encourage all local shoppers and visitors to the town to visit the bus on Friday 28th October as there will be a demonstration on just what goods and services our local businesses have to offer.
“It is vital that we continue to support our local small businesses and shop local where and when we can. The Small Business Saturday Big Bus campaign is a great way to find out more about our local small business owners and how we can best support them.”
Chris Wales, Business Development Manager Ballymena Chamber of Commerce and Industry, “It’s quite a coup for Ballymena for the Small Business Saturday bus to visit our town. Ballymena is proud of the variety and number of independent retailers in the town and shopping local can only be a good thing for all!”
The Small Business Saturday Big Bus campaign will be situated at Broadway on Friday 28th October 2016 from 10am to 1pm. The initiative is already the UK’s most successful small business campaign. Last year an estimated £623 million was spent with small businesses across the UK on the dedicated Small Busniess Saturday – up £119 million on last year and an increase in spending of 24%.
Now in its fourth year, Small Business Saturday is a UK wide small business initiative which takes place in towns throughout the UK on Saturday 3rd December 2016 and the campaign bus is touring Northern Ireland with special visits to Ballymena, Strabane and Coleraine. The bus will host workshops and seminars at each of its destinations.
Ballymena BID aims to encourage growth, development and investment in local businesses and is proud to be part of the Small Business Saturday Big Bus campaign 2016.
